Just Starting

Day four of 1st Chantix use. Have to stop w/ chronic bronchitis and am using the support system online of exercises. Will use the coach line. Slight headache or from the coughing? Tired a bit or from not exercising enough which helps my energy level and need to knock off pounds. A walk this morning helped with a tape of an inspirational author I love. Then I got depressed for awhile missing my deceased parents and self loathing over my nicotine addicted life. I can't imagine using this medicine with other meeds, alcohol, or if I had mental illness so people have to do it with their doctor. It's like with all scripts--read and beware. I'm optimistic w/o nausea and I am a writer and find odd dreams fascinating anyway. I had breast cancer 4 years ago and it was caught early. But many friends had chemotherapy and that frightens me now about lung cancer. So I will take the small side effects rather than chemotherapy and that's never a guarantee in our nicotene abuse after so many years. My depression or the blues is due to knowing how hard it is withdrawing, the whole anger I had at myself smoking--I think that was low self esteem. My inspiration is to feel good, better than ever. Wish I had appreciated my youth more and loved myself enough to not smoke but there may still be many more years to see my kids finish school. Best of luck to other users. It's worth the risk w/ your doctor's help and the Mayo Clinics support line. Peace.

Hello Burdyblue! How are you doing on the Chantix?

Have you experienced any other side effects, yet? The FDA lists them as possibly also including diarrhea, decreased appetite, dry mouth, somnolence, and toothache.

Ref: Chantix Information

Given your occasional depression, and self-berating, I do think the counselor could help you greatly. You can't change your past, so beating yourself up over it is really futile, but I understand, I tend to do it, too.
