I was recently prescribed morphine sulfate 15mg er, for fibromyalgia. I've only ever taken Percocet, vicoden, or hydrocodone. I'm nervous as to how I will feel.

This dose of Morphine is actually comparable to a 10/325mg Percocet, so it will probably affect you very similarly to that.

This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

I'd just suggest that you make sure you aren't driving, for the first few days, until your sure how its going to affect you. Morphine also has the propensity to make people very sleepy, so you may find yourself needing to nap.

Hello, I saw your post, I was taking morphine 30mg 2 x day for 15 yrs... However I was started out taking the 15mg. it is about the same, but everybody is different... since you already take opioids you should be fine.... it races the heart just a little at 1st, it did for me anyway... Never made me tired.... Take it at home when your not going out anywhere, until you know how it affects you.... it's a good pain medication, as with any drug your immune system sooner or later will force you to need a higher dose, especially if your a chronic pain patient and have to or need to go out and work every day...

Thank you so much, I'm just a big chicken, I think the name morphine just has me apprehensive. But, I'm used to Percocet so I should be fine.

My doctor diagnosed me with Fibromyalgia. She says that Percocet and Hydrocodone are not prescribed for this. What medications are usually prescribed. I tried Lyrica and it made me gain a lot of weight!

I also have been prescribed 15 mg ER Morphine...I've been taking hydrocodone after a double lumbar fusion three months ago. I've been taking 7.5/325mg hydro for the 3 months. Now today I'm supposed to start this morphine instead of the hydrocodone...I'm a chicken too... Scared of how it will make me feel. It's been awhile but I'm just curious as to how yours made you feel?

Like you're taking straight ibuprofen or tylenol, depending on what mgs. you were taking of the previously mentioned opiates. If they were over 15 mgs., you aren't going to notice any kind of buzz, if that was your concern.

You were better off talking anyone of the other meds you've taken before ,in my opinion Morphine sulfate is pure garbage. Better off with oxycodone or hydrocodone .
