Jublia Is Very Expensive And Not Very Effective.
UpdatedJublia is proof that drug companies think doctors are i****s, and the doctors deserve it. Jublia was approved by the FDA from studies that showed an 18% complete cure rate after 48 weeks (1 year). It must be put on every day during that period of time, and a bottle costs nearly $500 and lasts about 1 month. So, after spending many thousands of dollars and one year of effort, you have an 18% chance of a cure? Terbinafine pills cost $5 to $10 per month and have a 75% cure rate after 3 months.

CON: Terbinafine has been clearly linked to rare instances of acute liver injury that can be severe and sometimes fatal.
PRO: Jublia will not kill your liver
Pretty toenails are not worth the risk of my Liver or Life
Seeing those figures of 18%, it sounds like Jublia isn't any better than the placebo-effect in my opinion... Certain essential oils however, (such as Melaleuca, Thyme, & Oregano) have successful reviews on eliminating fungal infections in half the amount of time as Jublia and only cost around $10-$20 for several hundred applications worth of oil. When used appropriately, they also don't have serious risk factors, such as the potentially fatal liver damage associated with Terbinafine. You do have to apply them with care (always diluted) since they are extremely potent, but I would argue that they work better than various prescription anti-fungals, since they don't necessarily come with side effects that are likely to adversely affect patient adherence to treatment for such a long period of time. Does anyone have thoughts on this area of treatment from personal experience?
I used rada tea tree oil and it worked. Jublia, as expensive as it is, did not.
