Joint Pain With Verapamil?
UpdatedStarted taking Verapamil for chronic migraines--started with low dose and gradually increased. As I increased, the joints in both elbows became so painful, hard to put on a jacket or open a jar...muscles in arms are also very sore...both arms are equally sore. I am a strong person, had no trauma to the arms, and problem only started with verapamil use. Doctor does not believe it's the medication, but pharmacy told me joint pain could be a side effect. So confused...I love verapamil as it has taken my chronic headaches/migraines away and I love it! but can't handle this joint/arm pain much longer---any input would be fantastic!

Hello, Skunkbuns! How are you?
Yes, even the U.S. FDA lists that among the possible side effects, but your doctor may not be away of it. Most doctors don't usually have as much medication training as pharmacists do.
Other possible side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache and increased urination.
There are other similar medications you can speak to your doctor about trying that may not cause you this type of pain.
Is there anything else I can help with?
