I got jadelle put on about 6 months ago and I still haven't had period. And I had very light bleeding for a few day a couple of weeks after it was inserted but that's it. I rang my doctor about in the first month and she said it was normal but i still haven't got it. Do I need to go see her or is this normal? ## Hello, Jemma! How are you? Some women don't have their periods at all while using Jadelle! If your doctor doesn't see a reason to worry, then you should likely just relax, but if seeing her or calling again would make you feel better, then yes, you should definitely do so. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Dear Jemma, with certain birth control, sometimes your period can b light and sometimes u may not get it at all. Your Dr told u this was normal, u...

Does it hurt getting Jadelle implants taken out? If it does, is is worse pain than getting wisdom teeth taken out? It is possible to be asleep during the procedure? I am undecided whether I want to go on Jadelle implants or get Depo Provera injections? I like the idea of Jadelle because it is long term contraception, which Depo Provera is not. I like the idea of not going to the doctor regularly to obtain contraception, as I find it difficult to get to the doctor and I like the idea of long term contraception. Please advise. ## No it does not hurt they give you an aesthetic and no you do not need to be asleep as you do not feel a thing. Quick and easy. ## Thank you for that. do you get many side effects from using Jadelle, such as migranes and weight gain? Does antibiotics affect it? Pl...

I am a breastfeeding mum. My baby is 2 months old and I had my implants inserted 2 weeks ago, since then, anytime I breastfeed her, she poos immediately. I end up changing her diaper up to 6 to times daily. The poo is yellowish and sometimes greenish with a little bit of mucous. I have tried giving her Ors and zinc but it just won't stop. Should I take out the implants? As I'm really worried she has started to feel lighter. Please consider this post an emergency. ## Hi Stella, Sorry to hear about concerns with your baby. I have found a bit of information which says that there may be concern for babies 6 weeks or younger because their livers may have trouble metabolizing some of the hormones passed to them through the mother's breast milk. In your case I would take the baby t...

Yes, some people skip their cycles, or stop having them, with Jadelle. Other side effects, as listed by the FDA, may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability and PMS-like symptoms. Unless your doctor feels there is reason to be concerned, there's most likely nothing to worry about. Is there anything else I can help with?

I got the jadelle implant about a year ago the first 3 months were normal than i had continues bleeding for about fours months. I've missed my periods for last two months is this normal? ## Hello, Chantal! How are you? Yes, those types of symptoms can be side effects of Jadelle, as listed by the FDA. You may also experience nausea, headache, irritability, weight changes and PMS-like symptoms. Unless your doctor feels there is reason to be concerned, then you most likely have nothing to worry about. When was your last pap smear?

I got Jadelle a month ago, and I am still to get my period, which I was told it's normal if I don't. I've started getting cramps as if I'm supposed to be getting my period but have had diarrhea for the last 2 days. Is it normal to get diarrhea? I don't feel sick or anything so I thought it might be related with the Jadelle? Has this happened to anyone else? ## Hello, Dani! How are you? Yes, that can be normal, while your body is adjusting to the hormone in the Jadelle. However, there is also a chance that it may be unrelated. The FDA lists the other typical side effects of Jadelle as possibly including headache, bloating and PMS-like symptoms. Has there been any change, yet?

I'm 27 and got a Jadelle implant 4 years ago. It was taken out a year later since my period only came every 4-6 months. Tests always say they are negative, so for two years now my period has not regulated on its own and doctors aren't worried or fazed. I'm worried as I have three boys, soon to be 7,6, and 5 . However because I've had no positives and no period I'm a little afraid I may not be able to have babies anymore. I would like to have another, I just need to know what's going on with my body. ## Hello, Lysh! How are you? Have you discussed getting pregnant with a doctor? They should be able to help you reset your hormones and cycle to increase your chances of getting pregnant. There are hormonal supplements that they can use to help you with that. It sound...

Hi there, Ive had the Jadelle in my arm for nearly 4 years now, since my son was 6 weeks old, but ever since ive had it in, my periods have been so irregular. Sometimes ill go for 3days and then miss my period for a few months then ill bleed for a month and more. Im so over the long periods, i just want things to go back to normal. Really thinking of taking it out now. ## Hello, Haze! How are you? I'm very sorry about the problem that you're having. That is a very common side effect to the Jadelle implant, according to those listed by the FDA, you may also experience headache, weight gain, mood swings and PMS like symptoms. Many woman have had it removed due to such issues. Have you ever tried oral contraceptives?

Ive been on Jadelle since November 2013 and had episodes of bleeding non stop which was later controlled by Norethestrone, after that was sorted i had a fungal infection and the GP said i had an infection in my uterus and i was given some antibiotics but the itching never stopped. it later just stopped on its own as soon as it stopped i also stopped breastfeeding my son who was now 15months old. a week later i started feeling nauseous but nothing serious and i was advised by a nurse from our local clinic that it was just the hormones that have an imbalance and it would normalize. just last night i started having a running stomach which i never have unless im pregnant. Im worrid sick could i be pregnant again?

Hi, i had Jadelle implants almost two years ago and had no period until yesterday; whein i got diarrhoea. cramping and slight bleeding. Two week ago i was nauseated, tired and food tasted bland but the test was negative for pregnancy. I am a bit confused. The only side effects i had before were tiredness, dizziness, migraines and mood swings; but bleeding after two years without is a bit strange. Please help.

I've read alot of articles saying that you can still get pregnant with the jadelle but will cause a chemical abortion or something like that due to fertilized egg not being able to implant in wall lining.. this makes me think, sometimes I get pregnancy symptoms. Light spotting for a day, dizzyness, nausea, urinating more often. I've taken p.ts and its come back negative. But ive had a child before and know what pregnancy symptoms feel like. Then about a month later I get what i assume is my period but for a couple weeks.... and symptoms go away after a week or so... what does all this mean ??

I had jadelle inserted a week ago, and I now have my period. Could this just be my body getting used to the hormones? I was previously on implannon which was great but needed to change to jadelle as I'm in NZ. Are periods after 1 week of insertion normal?? ## Hello, Benny! How are you? Yes, your body has to get used to the hormones and breakthrough bleeding, even a full period, may occur. You may also experience dizziness, headache and weight changes.

I had my implants put in about 4-5 months ago. I've had no periods what so ever while I've had them in. I had intercourse about 5 weeks ago and in the last week or so I've had slight pains, always tired and feel sick and now have light bleeding as well. Is this a sign of pregnancy or is this normal? Is something else wrong?? ## Hello, Sam! How are you? If you're bleeding and have the implants, then there isn't much of a chance that you're pregnant, but you may want to do a test to be sure. Your body may just be adjusting to the hormones and you may be experiencing some side effects. Is there anything else I can help with?

i had the jadelle put in about a few months ago my first period lasted for about 10 days, but this one has lasted me two weeks it was light in the middle but then got real heavy again, plus ive become a complete super b**** and, is it still settling? is it normal? ## Hello, Renee! How are you doing? I am very sorry about the problems that you're having. And yes, such side effects can be normal, while your body is adjusting to the hormones in the Jadelle. It may take a few months for things to balance back out and be more normal. However, if the bleeding gets heavier, it would be best to consult your doctor to be sure that all is well. Is there anything else I can help with?
