I've stopped taking xarelto and my heart medication (it's been twenty days). I never told my doctor and I don't plan on taking them ever. I'm still here, I've got no side effects, I'm 56 yrs old and I'm 350 lbs obese. I was put on them because my heart rate went to 233 beats a minute, an yes, I had artireal heart rythm. Oh, did I mention that I was on them for 18 months and I just went cold turkey?

So, how is it going off your meds??? I am just wondering if you are the same or have gotten worse, did your doctor find out?

please let me know how your doing 18 to 24 months from now. Xarelto helps reduce probability of blood clots, what I and no one truly knows what will happen if anyone permanently stops using Xarelto. Questions I ask myself should I stop or not, I am truly considering stopping also. I have a large supply so I will continue, what I do when supply is exhausted I have NOT decided?

Quitting Xarelto (blood thinners) from what I have been told & confirmed by my research and confirmed by cardiologists would be foolish. You can change to a cheaper one. Xarelto patents expire I believe in 2020 and costs should go down substantially. My regret is that I did not research blood thinners before I started using them. Stopping Xarelto for 20 days probably would not be risky but permanently stopping could be. Question is, what risk do you want to take?

Hmmmm warfarin is never prescribed in combination with warfarin. You're either a liar or your Dr needs a skills audit.

I have had many headaches since taking xarelto 20mg. Current cardiologists I trust says it would increase risk blood clots if I stopped, I would love to stop.

You probably shouldn't have quit your meds. You don't know if you still need them or not. Just because you are lonely doesn't mean you shouldn't take care of yourself.

I forgot to add neck pain and lower back as you said is it kidneys liver or what. I've had 2 blood clots in my lungs they thinned them before getting to heart.

OMG!.... this itching rash and welts from xarelto... please ... help.. is there any relief .... I've tried everything ..it's diving me mad ... can't sleep... then I have the nausea ..so miserable in cali.. and on top of it all m disabled ..please some one...HELP!... TY TY....Nanette

I've been on it for over three years at 20 mg due to a blood clot. I quit taking it on Monday per the hematologist. I've been having an annoying headache, and lots more energy. Once the headache is gone I think I'll feel like I used to three years ago. Has anyone had the headaches? Maybe it's not related.
