UpdatedCan itraconazole be used for the treatment of scabies? Any studies done? If yes, how is it used in scabies? Thanks

Hello, Neuronal! How are you?
No, this is an antifungal medication, so it will not do anything to treat scabies, which is a type of skin mite that is very similar to lice.
It requires a specific medication that can dry out the top layer of skin and kill the mites. The U.S. FDA lists its typical side effects as skin irritation, redness, rash and peeling skin.
Have you consulted your doctor?
