I recently had an angiogram in which it was found that I had a minor arterial blockage for which isosorb 30mg was prescribed. This drug worked fine for 30 days, but when refilled by a different pharmacy isosorbide mono 30mg was provided. After the first dose, I had this hard to describe upper respiritory sensation, which kept me awake, and I also developed intense pain in my right hip, leaving me hardly able to walk. The two pills look different - the first is pink and oblong while the second is round and white with a mark across the middle as if intended to be cut in half. Can you answer?

What are the markings on the tablets?

From what you are describing, however, they both were the same thing, which is Isosorbide Mononitrate, it's just that not all pharmacies list the chemical salt on the label, which is what the mononitrate designates.

It can take 4 to 6 weeks for the medication to reach its full effect in the body and for all the side effects you experience to manifest, so it might just have been due to this factor.

Have you consulted your doctor about it?
