Is This Normal Breakthrough Bleeding

Rather than wait another month I started first pack of Lo Loestrin Fe 2 days after my period ended (started Sunday). Then I started spotting lightly 2 weeks later (very dark brown and very light). Then another week later I got my period which was this past Saturday. It's now Wednesday and the period is very heavy in the am and then almost goes away all day and then heavy again at night. Is this normal? I feel like it's going to go on forever. Normally my period is 3-4 days max and super heavy which is why I started Lo Loestrin.

It finally stopped after 9 days. Still have some super light spotting. I'm going to see what happens next cycle and hopefully everything evens out. Thanks.
Hello, Kimber! How are you?
Yes, according to the FDA, such breakthrough bleeding can be normal and may occur, off an on, for the first 3 months, after starting a new oral contraceptive. Other side effects are listed as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability and PMS like symptoms.
However, if you're concerned, please speak to your doctor as this might not be the right one for you to take.
Is there anything else I can help with?
