Is There Anywhere In U.s. Or Other Countties That Offers Free Methadone

I have been on methadone since 1999, I have tried suboxone twice also and it left me feeling just blank! 2 yrs ago I found a dr/nurse prac office that gives me just 40 mg a day(for pain), but its not enough to hold me and I end up buying swapping trading for more but its still cheaper than the 100$ a week clinic not to mention gas!! I live in north mississippi and w/the economy crashing and being unemployed for a while. I am almost iut and need to find a place that offers cheap or free methadone maintenance . I am willing to go to wherever it is cause I know what awaits me if I get off of it so please help if u know anywhere that has such a place , I am so sick of having this run my life. Yes there are free methadone clinics.There is one in Mckinney tx.,but u have to live in the county or in Dallas and be on disability or Medicaid.

Thanks john, I dont get any of those benefits but I do aporeciate u taking time to post. I am ok for a few days. I hope one day that gettn a methadone wont be this hard, but our govt makes money this way.

What I would suggest is contacting the social work department of your local hospital, they usually have a list of these types of clinics that help people with low income that don't have insurance to cover treatment. They are actually a great resource for such information.

My friend...I was on this exact same mission and I was gotten hooked up with Bob Neuman [Newman] who was the CEO at Beth Israel Hospitals in New York. He is a very special man but even he knew of no clinic that was free. I dose in Decatur, ga. and the best situation I have found is $5 bucks a day. I do not think there is free Methadone anymore ANYWHERE. How could you handle $5 bucks a day?
