Is Subutex For Me

To whom it may concern
My name is Ryan and about two years ago I was diagnosed with diverticulitis an intestinal issue that causes a lot of pain!! Everyday is a constant struggle and I'm afraid to be put on harsh pain medications!! I've had family members who have abused it in the past and I don't want too follow the same path!! Instead I would like to know what other options are out there for me?? I heard from a friend that subutex is a god send when it comes to pain management soo I decided too give this a try! If there's anyone out there that has any info on the medication or who can help a friend in need I'm very anxious too get help with managing my chronic daily pain

Hi Ryan,

I'm so sorry to hear about what you're dealing with. My mom has the same issue and she has definitely struggled with it. I know that she has found relief from altering her diet and using essential oils like peppermint, so if you'd like more information on that just ask and I'll be happy to help.

In regards to using Subutex- My research tells me that It contains the active ingredient Buprenorphine (semi-synthetic opioid), and that lower dosages can be used to control moderate acute pain in non-opioid-tolerant individuals. Just keep in mind that there is some risk of addiction with this medication. Also, just because it worked for your friend it may not work the same for you- since medication effects everyone differently.

If it were me, I would check out all possible options (including natural- less harsh alternatives) before opting for the Subutex. That is just my opinion however, in the end you must do what feels right for you.
