Is It Safe To Take A Lortab An Hour After Taking Vicodin That Didn Work

I have serious back pain from a spinal fusion. I took a vicodin about an hour ago that expired July of last year. It isn't working. Is it okay for me to take a Lortab?

They are both the same medication, Acetaminophen and Hydrocodone. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.
