I've been prescribed fentanyl 50mg pain patches and i was just wondering if it's okay to cut one in half an chew on it?

It took me a week driving around south Florida trying to get my Fentanyl prescription filled. These pharmacists are sociopaths. My orthopedic diagnosed me disabled three years ago and wants me off my feet as much as possible. When I win my disability case I'm moving to France. France has the best medical care. These pharmacists have me running all over town lying to my face that they are out of pain meds, they discontinued that brand, etc. The are given the federal right to discriminate patients. LISTEN....DISABILITY PAYMENTS ARE AN ENTITLEMENT. Okay? When you turn 62 you lose it. Why work some dead - end job the rest of your life when you can retire in the next few years? There is enough money put away to survive 50 million Americans on disability. Get all your medical records together and a disability lawyer....you will thank me later. You worked hard in life. Now it's time to reward yourself. You might die before you are 62. I'm returning the favor...Please do the same for someone else...If we don't help each other out, who will?

I disagree with your statement that there is no better pain relief that exercise, diet, etc. That is just plain FALSE info. Maybe that works in some cases, but not more serious ones. My DJD, DDD, is so bad that sometimes I can barely move. the Fentanyl is what helps me actually function and have a LIFE outside of sitting in agony. And it also ALLOWS me to be able to walk & exercise whereas I would otherwise not be able. But you are right about one thing: always take the meds as prescribed and nothing else. If it's not enough, then talk to your doctor. A good pain medicine doc will adjust your meds accordingly. Though he may need to step it up gradually, you will just have to be patient. Anyone who thinks pain medicine is NOT NEEDED for the pain some of us have 24/7 hasn't a clue what pain really is. Hopefully you never will. But until then, don't try to judge what you don't know anything about.

I've never been left in pain cause for the last 8 yrs of my life I have never done anything to get my mess taken away cause this white boy knows how to control himself, do you? I've passed the 30 u/a's I've taken. I've been on on my surprise pills counts how would u do...so don't tell me nothing cause I don't have ur problems because I've done things how u r supposed too...it's easy u do the right things u keep ur med u don't u lose em..not rocket science...n I'd like to see what the real numbers of drug abuse r cause I would bet u its all pretty damn even u just love to blame whites u racist 2 faced full of it whinner...that's what I think...u whine and cry racism when u don't have to look further than the mirror to find ur problem...truth hurts and I am sick of letting u say whatever u want...I am nothing like what u call white people neither r my people I'm around..I think u r your problem...u need to stop blaming others it gets so old...and whites make up a majority of the population that's not r fault...half of the country is white and half is every other race combined so we will have some numbers that would be higher to do numbers but idlf u look at percentages I'd like to see the numbers then...ur a sad dude...u can't fix ur problem so u blame others it's lame as hell

It's more about the fact that certain people with a high tolerance to meds n what not would not be affected of course.. but if someone is asking if it's OK and they rnt used to doing meds and they have no built up tolerance to opiods..who knows what could happen..so y tell anyone it's OK because it may not be..so it's better to error on the side of caution just incase so u say no to it being ok..we wouldn't know for sure..I know what I can handle and I wouldn't need to ask that question but if they r asking they really r not up to knowing what they can handle so I say be careful and y risk if u just wanna try something and u r not used to these type of meds..it's to risky really..if she wants to do it fine but telling her she will have no problems at all and go ahead isn't good advice in my book.. she is looking for a reason to do it or not to. So y send someone down that road with a green light when it's really yellow..risky..to each their own but its a path of...enter at your own risk so to say...

NO NO NO DO NOT CHEW FENTANYL PATCHES AS YOU HAVE THEN NO IDEA OF HOW MUCH YOU ARE USING AND ITS QUICKEST WAY TO BECOME AN ADDICT UNLESS YOU ARE ONE ALREADY.

Yes that's the thing we need to error on the side of caution and not say things like it never happens or ur fine do it... cause u don't know for sure...let's just be careful people..things all have different effects on us...I have a super high tolerance but I know some who can't stand a minimal amount...it's risky to just throw a statement in the wind like it never happens because we don't know that..ty and best to all of us in pain and living day by day. But let's be smart. And not just assume cause u know what assuming makes.........yeh. Thx guys....

Fentanyl is NOT given IV in Milligrams. The amount of fluid mixed with it may be measured in milligrams, but the fentanyl itself is MICROgrams. It is never ok to chew on a pain patch. Purely flirting with the devil.

You might have felt good this time, next time you won't be so lucky! My son died one after his 30th. birthday. His 4 year old daughter and myself found him in the bathroom ! Please if you value your life and your family's, please ,please use as directed by your doctor!

Are you out of your mind??? It is a fricking patch, it is NOT to be taken orally, soon chewing 1/4 will turn into chewing 1/2 then you will die. I cannot believe someone would be so STUPID. You are playing Russian roulette for sure.

Just cause a person like to abuse a drug SOMETIMES doesn't mean your a druggy. Dont sit there and judge people when your on the patch or a narcotic yourself.
