Is It Normal To Be Prescribed To Take Flomax For 30 Days?

I was prescribed Flomax to help pass my first ever kidney stone. Is it normal to have to take this for 30 days? This seems like a long time to me.

Hi Kimberly,

Based on my research, Flomax is not intended to be used as short term treatment. As long as you aren't experiencing any negative side effects, just take it as prescribed as your doctor.

I've read that Lemon Juice can be quite effective for those trying to pass the kidney stones. I'm sure you could also substitute other citrus fruits for lemons as well. I've read that juicing grapefruits is really good for the body- and since it's a citrus fruit I imagine it could help a great deal!

You can not eat grapefruit or drink grapefruit juice while taking flomax. This caution is on the prescription bottle.
