Is It Best To Ween Off Fentanyl 3 To 5 Percent Every 2 Weeks

I want to get off of MALLINCKRODT Fentanyl 50 mcg patches but the last time I tried to go down to 25mmg I went threw serious withdraws . That's why I was wondering if just going down 3-5 percent might be less withdrawals. Could anyone give me some insight?

You can't cut the patches to lower your dosage, because they are time released and that could cause you to get too much of the medication at once.

Have you tried stretching out how often you change them? That may be an idea, if your doctor approves. This is a very potent narcotic, so I think some withdrawals may be inevitable.
