It's actually Acetaminophen, not Aspirin, but yes, it is true. Last year, the FDA requested that the amount of Acetaminophen in all combination prescription medications be lowered to contain no more than 325mgs per dose. Many people think it is safe, since it's available over the counter and will take several tablets, at once, if they don't get pain relief with one, but what they don't realize is that it can cause fatal toxicity if too much is taken in any 24 hour period.
