Is Expired Carvedilol Safe To Take? (Top voted first)
Updated2 Replies
I was prescribed a bottle of carvedilol 12.5 and it has expired as of 1 month ago. I would like to know if it is safe to take?
This medication is most commonly used to treat high blood pressure and certain cardiac conditions. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, hypotension, and increased urination.
It does not become dangerous, once expired, but it may lose efficacy and not work as well as it did, when new. It would be best to dispose of it and see your doctor for a new prescription.
Is there anything else I can help with?
