Hi there. It's quite typical to be allergic to both Penicillin and Cephalexin:Keflex etc. I am only allergic (in an anaphylactic way) to Keflex, but can take penicillin , that apparently is rare. I would be dubious about taking Keflex again my first reaction was fairly mild, second anaphylactic and just this week had a third which was horrendous! Thoroughly recommend you proceed with great caution! Hope this helps xx

I could die from penicillin as well and just giving Cephalexin I'm scared to death to take these meds

I have been taking cephalexin so that the infection that I had will not come back and I just wanted to know if it is a narcotic?

I was given cephalexin and it almost killed me the doctor at the Emergency told me that this was a form of penicillin and that I may or may not be allergic to penicillin if I ever had to take it, he recommended me not taking it. So I wont take any of these two medications.

My four year old daughter have a mouth sore so her pediatrician gave her cefalexin...after taking the med rashes appeared all over her body so we stopped giving her the antibiotic..her dad had a history of allergic reaction on penicillin and im afraid my daughter have the same allergic reactions on penicillin

I'm really allergic to penicillin so when I got Cephalexin I read the information and thought my doctor made a mistake. I called the pharmacist and they said, only 3% of people react to cephalexin that are allergic to penicillin so you may be in the 3% . I live close to a hospital so i feel a little better i guess you can take the medication while sitting in your car at the emergency entrance of the hospital. I hate how toxic antibiotics are, I think a day will come a super probiotic will be created like they made during world War II that saved numerous soldiers lives. This empowered the body to wellness, without the insane and sometimes tragic side effects of antibiotics; the most toxic antibiotic is Cipro. Buyer beware

YOU MOST LIKELY HAVE BRONCHITIS WITH PHLEGM/CONGESTION AND FEVERS. CEPHELEXIN IS NOT SPECIFIC FOR UPPER RESPIRATORY. ITS MORE FOR SKIN INFECTIONS AND OTHER MICROBIALS. YOU WOULD PROBABLY BENEFIT MORE FROM PENICILLIN, AMOXICCILIN, ZPACK/AZYTHROMYCIN, AVELOX(ALTHOUGH THIS ONE IS TOO STRONG) WHICH ARE MORE SPECIFIC TO UPPER RESPIRATORY TRACT INFECTIONS. SEE YOUR DOCTOR BEFORE TAKING ANY OF THESE THOUGH

How soon after taking 2 antibiotics, sulfamethoxazole and cephalexin for bacteria/cellulitis in the lower leg will I feel an improvement. My leg, foot and toes no longer swells but I still have pain.
