You should start to experience some relief within 15 to 20 minutes of taking it, but it may take about 4 to 6 weeks for it to reach its full level of efficacy in your body.
Itchy Scratchy, I am sorry about the problem you had from stopping. It is usually best to taper off of most medications to prevent these rebound effects. Have you tried any other allergy medications? There are others you can try, if you aren't comfortable taking Zyrtec, anymore.
