Is Watson's Name Still On Promethazine + Codeine Prescriptions

I'm told that since the Watson company was sold, that their name would not be on the promethazine + codeine prescription anymore. Is that true?

Interestingly enough, even though Watson is now known as Actavis, for the longest time I've continued to see the Watson logo still depicted on many of their tablets. However, what makes this even more confusing is that as of August 2016, Actavis was acquired by Teva; so it would probably be difficult to tract down the Watson name on various products if they keep passing the baton from one company to the next every few years. Furthermore, Teva's webpage lists their promethazine and codeine as separate meds (not as a combination product).

I think your best bet for up to date product details may be to contact Teva directly at: 888-TEVA-USA (888-838-2872) or via email: [email protected] (general inquiries) / [email protected] (product info).

I would also encourage you to ask your local pharmacist, since they tend to know what's on the market.
