No, the actual medication name is Pravastatin Sodium, the sodium designates the type of chemical salt that it is derived from, so the active ingredient in any medication that contains this drug, whether name brand or generic, would be Pravastatin Sodium.
It is not, however, the same as the sodium you see in table salt or food products and is not something that you need to worry about.
Some pharmacies or doctors might list it on the prescription as Pravastatin Sodium and some don't, but it is still the same medication.
