Based on my research, Sporidex (Cephalexin) is said to be an antibiotic with a well tolerated side effect profile.
Although it is commonly used for urinary-tract infections, I haven't found any claims stating "how safe or effective" it may be for small children under a certain age. I suppose this answer could be different for everyone of any age though, since body chemistry and biological age varies so greatly on a personal basis.
You can learn more about this drug on the page for Cephalexin Details
