Is Serotonin Syndrome A Possibility If You Abruptly Quit Taking Neurontin I Suffered Abrupt Withdrawal By Doctor From Amitriptylene And Almost Died

I ran out of neurontin after slow response from mail order drug company. I had serotonin syndrome after abrupt withdrawal from amitriptylene and fear this could happen again. I am having agitation, itching, sleeplessness and a feeling of crawling on my body.

The symptoms you're experiencing can be normal withdrawal symptoms from abruptly stopping a medication.

Serotonin syndrome, which can be life threatening, does not usually occur from stopping a medication, it occurs due to taking too many medications that increase the amount of Serotonin in the brain.

i was on cymbalta&Lyrica,then my lyrica was increased,well while being on this my dr suspected SS then started decreasing the cymbalta,aftr 2wks of comin off the cumbalta,my symptoms of ss hit the ceiling,so yes you can hav ss by comin off or even being off the med tht reacted&caused a ss overload.

Do not stop taking neutontin abruptly. You need to taper off of it slowly. Read the book, "The Antidepressant Solution".
