I was wondering if Lisinopril is a generic medication for Diovan?

The other posters are correct, Diovan's active ingredient is Valsartan.

Another name brand for Lisinopril would be Zestril.

priscilla..isnt that what I said..tat it was NOT a generic for Diovan rather it was generic for PRINIVIL, which obviously would be an alternative.

No, Lisinopril is NOT a generic for diovan; rather it is a generic blood pressure medication for Prinivil. I take 40mg per day myself.
