Is It Safe To Take Amoxicillin During First Trimester

im 8 weeks pregnant..having sever cough with stomach pain during coughing..my gynaecologist prescribed me amoxicillin 875mg+potassium clavulanate 125mg..my body wt is 43kg. Is it safe to take this medicine..if i didnt take medicine will cough affect my baby?

And yes, this is a generic for the antibiotic Augmentin, which is considered safe during pregnancy and you are correct, if you have some type of infection, that would be far more dangerous to your baby than taking this medication.

But it may cause you some side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea.
