Hi Morrison,

Based on information I gathered from a drug interaction checker, Pentrexyl (Ampicillin) does interact with food; but I don't think it matters whether or not it's alcohol or even a piece of bread, just food in general. Drug interaction precautions state the following:

"Adjust Dosing Interval: Certain penicillins may exhibit reduced gastrointestinal absorption in the presence of food. The therapeutic effect of the antimicrobial may be reduced.

Management: The interacting penicillin should be administered one hour before or two hours after meals. Penicillin V and amoxicillin are not affected by food and may be given without regard to meals."

That said, I would think that it's fine to take Pentrexyl, the following morning after drinking (since it would've been well over two hours after you ingested it).

I hope this helps!
