Well, I supposed reasonable is really a matter of perspective.
The perceived benefits from a medication, if it is necessary, is really going to depend on how much longer you live to take it and other factors having to do with your overall health.
My dad is 83 and I have frequently told him that what he really needs to do is decide what's right for him and what he is willing to do to maintain his health. I believe that at your age, you are the best judge of what is and isn't right for you, because if you weren't, you wouldn't have lived to be 84.
If you feel the test is unnecessary, then you are freely allowed to tell your doctor that and refuse it, you have that right in the U.S.
