Is Folsafe L Good For Expecting Pregnancy

My doctor prescribed me folsafe L. I'm expecting a pregnancy. Just checked the ingredients of folsafe L and it does not have folic acid (I checked on google to find out that a folic acid supplement is needed while expecting pregnancy). So I'm wondering why my doctor suggested I take folsafe L which does not have folic acid?

Hi. My doctor prescribed Folsafe-L to help me conceive. Is it safe to continue taking that tablet during my pregnancy?

Hi. I'm 6 weeks pregnant. My Dr suggested that I take Folsafe-l (mecobalamin 1500mcg, l-methylfolate 1mg, pyridoxa-5 phosphate 0.5mg) and Susten sr 400. Are these medicines safe to take?

Hello Abi,

Folsafe L is a vitamin that is given to provide essential nutrients which aids the health of both you and the baby. If you wish to take a folic acid supplement I would strongly advise that you discuss this matter with your doctor as they might be willing to refer you to an additional vitamin that contains folic acid for you. The NIH states that this multivitamin is primarily prescribed for the first 12 weeks of the pregnancy.

As an additional piece of information the National Institute of Health warns that it may cause nausea in some people, due to its potency.
