Is Doxycycline And Anaerobyl Safe For Pregnant Women?

I'm in the first trimester of my pregnancy and was experiencing vaginal itching, even when I urinate. So I went to pharmacy and they prescribed me these capsules Doxytet and Anaerobyl, and also gave me topical cream Canalba. So I want to know if they are safe for pregnant woman?

Are you referring to the medications Doxycycline and ANAEROBYL-GOLD (metronidazole)?

If so, my research tells me that Doxcycline is only recommended for use during pregnancy when there are no other alternatives and the benefit of using the medication outweighs the risk. Doxycycline is considered pregnancy Category D medicine, which means that there is a high significant risk to an unborn baby.

In regards to ANAEROBYL-GOLD (metronidazole), I've read that this medication is not recommended for pregnant women in their first trimester.

In regards to Canalba vaginal cream, I've read that the safety regulations for pregnant women haven't been established for this medication- so it should only be used when under the care of a medical doctor.

Is your doctor aware that the medications he prescribed could "potentially" be unsafe during your pregnancy?
