Is Citalopram A Narcotic (Top voted first)
UpdatedMy doctor recently put me on citalopram. I lost my appetite and feel exhausted with this pill. Is this a side effect?

Citalopram is not a narcotic, it is an SSRI antidepressant.
And yes, those can be side effects, while your body is adjusting to the medication, you may also experience nausea and dry mouth.
It usually takes about 4 to 6 weeks for the medication to reach its full effects and then the side effects should slowly start to taper off. However, if you don't experience any improvement, you should contact your doctor.
