I began taking Sprintec on the Sunday my period began. I bled the entire week. I spotted for a week and then began bleeding again the third week. I was taking the pills at the same time everyday, but recently started taking them earlier. I have finished all of the blue pills and I'm beginning the white pills that have no hormones. Will I be menstruating for another whole week?

Hello, Lisa! How are you? I'm sorry, I know that can be very annoying.
How long have you been taking it? You can usually experience breakthrough bleeding for the first 3 months, while our body is getting used to the hormones, if it continues beyond 3 months, then you may need to try a different oral contraceptive.
Other side effects, as listed by the FDA, may possibly include nausea, headache, irritability, weight gain and PMS-like symptoms.
