Intuniv Irrability

My 11 yr old son was put on 1 mg of intuniv then bumped up to 2mg before Christmas. He had been on concerta for years.. He has been getting into trouble at school.. 5 detentions and is mouthy at home.. Could the intuniv be the problem?

Yes, it could be causing such side effects, but they should go away with time, as his body gets used to the medication. Other side effects, as reported by the FDA, may possibly include nausea, headache, decreased appetite and constipation.

If he's still experiencing such issues, you should talk to his prescriber, it may not be the right medication to help him.
