Infections That Amox Clav Helps

Hi, my doctor recently prescribed Amox-Clav 875 for a throat infection, but after I went to the dr. my symptoms started subsiding the next day(of course). Now, I have an infection in my toe from digging out an ingrown toe nail. Would this antibiotic help this type of infection? I know you're going to tell me to see the doc, but my toe is red, puffy and some minor clear puss is coming out. It is an obvious infection, and with Obamacare, I can't afford to keep running to the doc. So, if this Rx will help I would prefer to see if I can treat it myself. Thank you for your time.

This is a broad spectrum antibiotic, so it can be used to treat various infections, as long as your doctor approves.

The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea.
