Indapamide Discontinuation
UpdatedI've taken Indapamide for many years, as well as Spironolactone. I've lost about 50 pounds and my doctor gave me permission to stop Indapamide and keep taking Spironolactone. I also check my blood pressure daily. Since I stopped taking Indapamide about 3 days ago, I'm interested in knowing what side effects I can expect from doing this?

@Rosalie,
Depending on how long you've been taking Indapamide, withdrawal symptoms may be non-existent.
The following clinical study by NIH also depicts no withdrawal symptoms being associated with Indapamide after 10 years of review:
ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/4077233
On the contrary, if you google "Indapamide withdrawal symptoms", you will find mention of:
dizziness, fatigue, headache, loss of energy or weakness, muscle cramps or spasms.
Having said this, my personal opinion is that you should be fine. However, if you do notice any of the symptoms listed above, I do believe that these manifestations should be treatable whether it be through dietary supplements or various lifestyle changes.
Hope this helps!
Thank you for the information, David. I don't think I had any symptoms from discontinuing Indapamide. My main concern was that I'd put on water weight with edema but that didn't happen. I'm still taking Spironolactone. I'm also a vegan which also helps.
Hi all,
I would like to know what side effects I should expect from taking Indapamide and how long does this medication take to completely leave my body? My heart rate is also very low.
