Hello, Gene! How is your son?
Ilvitrim is just an antibiotic, it can be taken by people that are HIV positive or negative. It is used to treat or prevent bacterial infections.
Its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea.
However, it will not help with the flu, since that is a viral infection.
Is there anything else I can help with?
