A "severe skin rash" is actually listed as an uncommon but severe side effect of Amoxicillin, where it mentions that you should contact your doctor immediately.

Skin rashes are often caused by an allergic reaction to the medication or its binders and fillers. If this is the case, your doctor may end up having you switch to another antibiotic.

Did this happen on the first day you started taking it?
