If I'm Allergic To Penicillin Pills Can I Use The Ointment?

I suffer from cystic acne and I use topical clindamycin but I found some penicillin cream in a Hispanic store and I was wondering if I could use it like I do the topical clindamycin?

If you are allergic to Penicillin, it would be best not to use it in any form. There is a possibility of experiencing allergic reactions, even if you just use it topically.

Cystic acne is usually treated with oral antibiotics, which the FDA lists as possibly causing side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash, and diarrhea.

Thank you! I thought I would be but u wanted to make sure before I would try it... I've used the pills but this time the doc gave me the cream... I'll talk to him to see if he might want to prescribe it...
