If I Take 130mg Of Methadone Per Day Will A 60mg Morphine Sulfate Help Get Me Through One Day? (Page 2)

I go to a methadone program and have for about 4 years. I've recently had the flu which caused me to vomit up my methadone (I get 5 take home bottles per week). Tried taking another bottle and threw up again. I'm feeling sick from not taking it so I took a 60 mg morphine sulfate pill. Will this help at all?

Dose is a ratio of 6:1 so 100mg methadone needs 600mg morphine. Tell your doctor to get educated on equal dosing when messing around with your life and taking your money. Remember 600mg morphine daily is same as 100mg methadone daily. If youre on instant release morphine you would need to split your dose into 4 doses of 150mg a day i.e 600mg total morphine for the day. Doctors must get these things right as you will suffer dreadfully otherwise

This isn't A LEGAL ISSUES FORUM I'll never understand what motivates some to spew such useless information wait it may be the narcotic fog from your DILAS ugh it's dilaudid at least come close to the proper rx. Dilaudid is NOT MORPHINE it's
Hydromorphone a synthesized keytone of the MORPHINE TYPE. Molecular weight is approx 7-10 stronger.I SUGGEST YOU DO THE RESEARCH the pdr for narcotic abusers or newbies don't count.

I went one step further I consulted my staff pharmacologist and she confirmed that there is indeed a difference all be it similar. Hence patients allergic to morphine can use dilaudid and vice versa so deff. Not the same. If anyone would know it would be her.. I tend to believe a pharmacologist over a pharmacist any day. I guess it's back to the books lol

I just got a 90 mg morphine ER pill while waiting for my methadone at the pharmacy. I took this with 10mg diazepam. PLEASE let me know if I will survive or should I go to the hospital? I will be sitting here by my phone checking. I am on 120 mg methadone/day and haven't taken any extra opiates before with it. Will this be in my system longer than 3 days? I will be given a drug panel in a few days by my clinic. PLEASE HURRY, I will be checking on my email.

Then just go to the clinic and tell them ur addicted to pain meds. Quit taking them and I'm see u are trust me i know all to well and went down that same road. It was my only option but it worked. Hope the best

Im from the UK & I just looked up the opioid conversion chart our lovely Docs use over here. Liquid morphine (Oramorph 10mg/5ml) is 10mg to each 5ml dose so 120mg/ml of Methadone liquid 1mg/1ml would be 60ml of oramorph equal to 120mg/ml of Methadone. Hope this helps :-)

Giving conversation charts from someone who posted that request from over 6 years ago probably won't help very much. For those with take home privilege's by law a contract is signed by the client stating they understand how to proceed in the case of illness and inability to ingest ones dose AWAY from clinical observation. Common sense would dictate if you vomited up your first dose chances are good you'll vomit the second. Methadone is one of the most powerful opioids on the planet so double dosing can be fatal, especially if you're ill and your system is compromised to begin with.

Poor advice from above poster - methadone doesn't have metabolites, it's metabolized by the liver as unchanged methadone so no U/A would determine the levels. You will however turn up as having consumed morphine.

No you make no sense with your conversion of 60 mg morphine equals 120 mg methadone. In actual fact the conversion rate is 5:1 so 100 mg oral morphine is equivalent to 20 mg methadone. Get your facts right as conversion done wrong could seriously harm someone or kill them

Hello just somegirl,are you brain or high to actually think that she took a pill Forum some guy don't you get what she's trying to say. And I don't blame her unless you think outing someone put on a public forum by name is a cool thing to do . Yes, CONGRATS on tapering yourself off of such a high dose of methadone and for so many years, I'd pat you on the back if I could. That's a major accomplishment I'm sure. I haven't been on it but I do know opiate sick and withdraw, I have a friend on methadone and I've seen her withdraw sick. Pay no attention to the neg. they're just jealous haters. You go gurl!!!

Bunny, undoubtedly you know absolutely NOTHING about detoxing off methadone. The fact that he's come down from 280 mg. is Awesome! It doesn't matter how long it took him to do it. You should be praising him!
