Sulfamethoxazole with Trimethoprim is an antibiotic that can treat various types of infections, but if you only have 'left overs' then you likely don't have enough to properly treat and fully eradicate the infection and not taking enough of them creates the risk of your developing antibiotic resistant bacteria.
