I took INH 40 years ago for TB but I have noticed health problems that I think might be related to this drug

Hi Tom, Just read your post. I took INH about 40 years ago, too, and am now experiencing some problems that i think are due to the drug. Did you ever find anything out about it?

Hello Tom,

Sorry to hear that you are experiencing some health complications.

According to the National Institute of Health INH (Isoniazid) is a drug used to treat tuberculosis.

They warn that severe and sometimes fatal hepatitis associated with isoniazid therapy has been reported and may occur or may develop even after many months of treatment.

Here is a list of some other adverse effects reported to be caused by Isoniazid.

- Peripheral Neuropathy
- Convulsions
- Toxic Encephalopathy
- Optic Neuritis And Atrophy
- Memory Impairment
- Toxic Psychosis
- Jaundice
- Nausea
- Vomiting
- Epigastric Distress
- Pancreatitis
- Agranulocytosis
- Hemolytic
- Sideroblastic Or Aplastic Anemia
- Thrombocytopenia
- Eosinophilia
- Fever
- Skin Eruptions
- Lymphadenopathy
- Vasculitis
- Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis
- Drug Reaction With Eosinophilia Syndrome
- Pyridoxine Deficiency
- Pellagra
- Hyperglycemia
- Metabolic Acidosis
- Gynecomastia
- Rheumatic Syndrome
- Systemic Lupus Erythematosus-like Syndrome

There is a larger list of adverse effects but they were reported long after the testing period.
