Is this a iron supplement I cannot find any information on it. And if it is, is it by perscription or over the counter?

This product appears to be available on amazon, possibly without a prescription [1]; but this does appear to be a prescription drug when I checked other online sources. It does indeed look to be an expensive product!

"Ferrex 150 Plus 90 150-50-50mg Capsules is an iron and vitamin combination used to treat low iron levels in the body. It may also be used to treat other conditions as determined by your doctor.

SIDE EFFECTS that may occur while taking Ferrex 150 Plus 90 150-50-50mg Capsules include constipation; diarrhea; heartburn; loss of appetite; nausea; stomach upset; or vomiting. If they continue or are bothersome, check with your doctor. CONTACT YOUR DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY if you experience black, tarry stools; blood or streaks of blood in the stool; fever; or severe or persistent vomiting with continuing stomach pain. AN ALLERGIC REACTION to Ferrex 150 Plus 90 150-50-50mg Capsules is unlikely, but seek immediate medical attention if it occurs. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include rash; hives; itching; difficulty breathing; tightness in the chest; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue. This is not a complete list of all side effects that may occur. If you have questions about side effects, contact your health care provider. Call your doctor for medical advice about side effects. I am taking ferrex 150 plus due to the fact that my blood count is 9.2. Can this drug be purchased over the counter? I have a prescription now, but my insurance doesn't cover.
