but because of lack of co-payment unable to get the medicine, now my heart is racing and it feels as if it is coming out of my chest, any suggestions

I must stress what BL has already said. You need to have this checked out, Roberta, as soon as possible.
Abruptly stopping such a medication can cause rebound effects, which could result in dangerously elevated blood pressure and heart rate.
How are you doing? Any change? Which medication was it?
You need to call your dr or go to the Emergency Room.
