I Was Just Given Ritalin To Take...

I was just given Ritalin to take for concentration and depression. Does anyone take it for that? Has anyone had success with this medication? What about bad side effects?

Ritalin is a psychostimulant that can be used to help with concentration, it's most commonly used to treat ADHD and narcolepsy. Sometimes they do help people with some types of depression, but they generally aren't the first treatment choice for it.

Side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache, anorexia and insomnia.

Thank you for helping me understand what Ritalin is. I am very anxious about taking a new medication in this class, but my concentration, lack of motivation, depression, etc. has not been helped. I have Treatment Resistant Depression, and have been on so many anti-depressants/mood stabilizers and antipsychotics it is ridiculous. I also had Electro Shock Therapy Treatments and I have the Vagus Nerve Stimulator implanted in my neck. Nothing helped. I have been disabled and battling this disease "Mental Illness" for 30 years (disabled 27). I hope this works for me! I am a strong woman, but getting weary of constantly getting my hopes up and the current "solution" failing, and then having to try something else.
