I'd like to ask, I forgot to take the new set of pills after the 7 day free pill period. It is now on the 10th day. Can I still take the pill? Is it still safe? Do I have to wait 7 days before having a unprotected contact? I've been taking Althea pills for 11 months now and it's my first time that I took my new pack on the 10th day.

Yes, any time you miss several pills, you need to wait 7 full days, before they will become effective, again.
The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, PMS-like symptoms, and irregular bleeding.
