I Took Symbicort For About Six Weeks And Have Developed Boil-like Lesions And Calf Cramps.

After taking Symbicort for about six weeks, I had a night of terrible calf cramps which were so severe that I developed a bruise on my upper calf. I have also developed boil-like lesions under my arm and on my chin. I did not relate it at first to taking Symbicort, but called the doctor and he took me off Symbicort. Are these side effects unusual for taking Symbicort?

Symbicort contains a steroid, so yes, it can cause such side effects. But the cramps you experienced seem to have been rather extreme and more intense. It's likely your doctor didn't want you to have to keep dealing with that misery.

Are you on any other medications?

Has the acne started clearing up, yet?
