I Took 20 Mg Methadone Yesterday - Can I Take A Suboxone Strip (Top voted first)
UpdatedI took 20 mg of methadone yesterday afternoon. Can I take a suboxone strip or half a strip and be ok and feel the relief of the sub? I'm not sick but in major pain and need some kind of pain relief and subs do that for me.

Hello, Mary! How are you?
No, you must be in full withdrawal from all other opiates, before you can safely take Suboxone, otherwise it may throw you into dangerous precipitated withdrawals.
The FDA warns that these medications carry the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation.
Is there anything else I can help with?
I started my methadone journey February or last year, stayed clean and no extra done got up to the clinics 100mg cap and my dose was legit wearing completely off around 2pm and I dosed between 7-8am. After several peak and troughs the dr finally raised me to 140mg which itself still wore off around the same time still clean. After the dr said that it couldn't possibly wear off that quick, said that I would have to find another clinic to just feel high at which at no point in time was I doing but ya know how drug addicts are so... at that time I kinda lost all my give a damn and started using again and until I came to the clinic had never used illicit drugs. I had taken dilaudid and roxys and morphine quicker than anyone I knew but little did I know that legitimately going to the clinic for help and the dr and nurses only dismissing my genuine concerns that when I used my tolerance would be sooo high I had a little over a good year clean on suboxone in the past but at that time still wanted to feel high.
So I found a sub dr in my town which is limited in treatment and he said he has had success with transitioning patients at 60mg with a 3 day subutex script then 30 day suboxone each 3-8mg x3. My clinic was very harsh about me. It wanting to continue to pay to be sick everyday and took me down by 10mg every week. This past Monday was my first dose on 60mg. Literally before lunch I was sick as a dog in full blown withdrawals and I know from what I've read and what the dr said at least 72 hours since last dose of methadone. I am on my way to pick up my scripts but being as sick as I was that first day I ended up dosing yesterday and the day before. That being said I don't plan on jumping right into the subutex but with my metabolism as fast as it is and already scoring a 31 on the COWS, does anyone have any similar experience or am I just screwed? I literally stayed up reading forums all night and couldn't find one person who had the same problem of the methadone wearing off so quickly, so please any help is greatly appreciated.
