UpdatedI started Tri-Sprintec the day after i filled my prescription on Saturday June 6th. My period isn't due until June 16. I'm confused on what to do now. Do I need need to stop this pack and start a new one the day of my period?? Can you please help me?

Hello, Nae! How are you?
No, that's not necessary. Since you started before you were on your period, it just takes a full 7 days, before it reaches its level of effectiveness in your body to prevent pregnancy. If you'd started it the first day of your period, it would be immediately effective.
The FDA lists the typical side effects of oral contraceptives as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, weight gain and PMS-like symptoms.
You will also most likely not follow your prior period schedule, but instead you'll get it the last week of the pack.
But unless your doctor says otherwise, you should just continue taking them, now, as you are.
Is there anything else I can help with?
No. Thank you so very very much!
