I No Longer See The Gel On The Patches

Has the Fentynol patches changed? I'm on 100mg and I use to see a gel substance in the patch. Now with 2 different brands, neither have the gel, and both have NOT worked as well controlling my pain. Any info?

Not all of them use the gel formulation and whichever one your pharmacy carries may vary from month to month, depending on which manufacturer was offering the cheapest price at the time they needed to restock their supply.

The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

You may want to speak to your doctor about the issue to see if they may be able to suggest something that will help, since these ones aren't working so well for you.

How long have you been on these patches?

Off and on for over a decade. I was on percocet and soma, now on patches and tylenol 4...years ago when I was put on patches i remember seeing gel like stuff, and few months ago when presc again looked same, but last 2 refills I don't see anything, and don't seem to help as much.
