I Need To Find A Methadone Clinic With This Benefit.

Hello im on methadone,i have been for 6 years. ive been on the internet like crazy trying to find the names and addresses an phone numbers of methadone clinics that give us the option between methadone pills(wafers)or 10mg tablets or liquid. Ive been on the liquid and i absolutely hate it,it dont diges good at all,all clinics should give an option considering between the pill form an liquid form,not everyones body is the same i know my body, and it doesn't metabolize the liquid like the other peoples. Will someone help me find one of the clinics in saginaw or lansing area michigan thanx for listening

Hi, Rachelle! Sorry about the issues that you're having.

However, from what I know, most clinics don't offer a choice.

The reason that most use the liquid is when someone is taking it there, at the clinic, it prevents someone from being able to sneak it out, by not swallowing it.

And whatever formulation they use is something that they are able to purchase in bulk, for lower prices.

And they don't consider it necessary to list what they offer, since you're expected to use what they provide you with for treatment.

Have you talked to your current clinic about it?

It could also be that your dose of the liquid just isn't high enough.

A lot of clinics do offer a choice of liquid or 40 mg wafers. My clinic offers the orange wafers and does not water them down. My previous clinic had the white wafers but put each days dose in a bottle with a little water in it. Both clinics also had the red liquid.

Ive been taking methadone at a clinic for almost 9 years and with taking the liquid i seem to have withdrawel symptoms after about ten hours which makes work difficult. I would like to find a clinic in my area that offers pill form. I feel likee that would stay with me longer. I can pick up once a month. Is there a clinic nearby that you are aware of. Thank you.
