I Need A Time Released Pain Med

I have been taking Lortab 10/500 3 times a day for about 2 years for fibromyalgia,, bulging discs, arthritis and connective tissue disorder. I seem to be getting worse and as long as I can keep taking it within about 5 hours during the day and at bedtime, I can tolerate the pain. I want to take a 3 wk vacation, but the flight and driving is going to kill me. Is there anything I can suggest to my doctor that will be time released, but not knock me out where I can actually enjoy my time? I feel as though I have to do this before I get so bad I can't leave my community or my house. Any suggestions?

It's been 2 years on the Vicodin for you and now they no longer work. I have been there and done that. Finally after 6 years of going through scary amounts of vicodin, and the Tylenol bring my concern. Anyways I got into a pain clinic and I get Ms Contin, and my dr. Would rather increase my dose of morphine than increase my vicodin I AM allowed 3 10/325 Norco for breakthrough pain, they don't work however this pain clinic is treating my underlying problem I'm herniated degenerating L5 to S1 and a cyst on my pituatary gland. It's been decided I will most likely be bonded long term so I'm getting chiropractic care and non surgical deck.depression and facet I injection s that work. I AM thankful I have insurance and have found my way. Most likely you need pain mgmt. Also Physical therapy, ( which has never helped me, me in PT they wanted to strengthen damaged muscles) chiro care gets my spine off the nerve causing pain. If you are unable to get any PM or therapy I will give u a# to call, they could at . Least increase for u somehow eight six six five seven nine thirteen ten....Good luck to you never give up!
In my honest opinion, the doctors should be fixing the "cause" of the pain, and not trying to "cover it up" with prescription meds. You shouldn't have to worry about your pain getting worse unless you don't treat and attend to the underlying cause of the pain you are coping with.
Ignoring it by taking medication can only go so far as covering it up so it can eventually get worse over time.
I'm not saying to cold turkey the medication by any means. What I'm saying is that you should consider looking into alternative ways which you can treat fibromyalgia, bulging discs, arthritis, and connective tissue disorders, rather than only treating the pain that they are causing you.
Have you considered going to a naturopathic physician for advice or treatment? I only ask because most MD's just give people pills and don't actually find ways to treat the condition itself.
Just wanted to offer the two-cents from my perspective, and I hope you don't take it the wrong way, as I'm only intending to try and help what would appear to be a lost cause of pain.
